I am hoping somebody knows the answer to this:
- Configuring the build runs succesfully
- make starts fine but exits with an error on invalid compiler options.

The error message I get is:
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../../.. -D__DEBUG__ -DUSE_WX_EXTENSIONS -I/export/home/user/compile/wxWidgets-2.8.12/lib/wx/include/x11univ-unicode-release-2.8 -I/export/home/user/compile/wxWidgets-2.8.12/include -I/export/home/user/compile/wxWidgets-2.8.12/contrib/include -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGE_FILES -D__WXUNIVERSAL__ -D__WXX11__ -DwxUSE_GUI=0 -I/usr/local/include -MT strerror_r.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/strerror_r.Tpo -c -o strerror_r.o strerror_r.c

make[4]: *** [strerror_r.o] Error 1

Any ideas?

Re: Solaris 10-x86 compilation issue

Right, a bit of creative web searching delivered the answer: It's not enough to set the environment variable CC='gcc -std99' but one also has to add it as an option to the configure script.

So now at least the compilation runs for a bit, until it hits the next error.......
